Gopuff has announced plans to open an omnichannel store in San Francisco that merges physical and digital shopping experiences, with digital ordering kiosks to efficiently manage both in-store and online orders.
In-store shoppers will use digital terminals to order beverages, ice cream, diapers and other goods that workers then pick those orders from a product storage area that also services online orders and bring them out to the customer, in doing so, creating a dark store hybrid.
Gopuff has stated it plans to have no more than five workers in the store at a time, responsible for assembling both online & in-store orders and providing customer service to in-store shoppers during retail hours.
