Recipe kit provider, Gousto, has unveiled a limited-edition “Flavour Saviour” kit, created in partnership with the charity Absent, to help people retrain their senses post-Covid.
Gousto’s research showed that 71% of Covid sufferers lost their sense of smell and taste, and 57% said it has taken the joy out of food.
350 kits have been created, that can be obtained for free off the website, and are handcrafted to rediscover senses using ingredients including chili flakes, soy sauce, and dried apricots.
Teamed with comedian Katherine Ryan to promote the box, who herself lost her sense of smell and taste due to Covid last year, one of 3.3m people in the UK to have done so.
