Cosmetics retailer Lush has this week announced the opening of an innovative new retail format, a 24-hour vending machine, located in Coal Drop’s Yard at King’s Cross in London.
The location is a ten-minute walk from King’s Cross Station, one of London’s busiest rail terminals, and as a result, is being used to target shift and health workers who cannot always access Lush stores during normal opening hours.
The machine itself is created by Amnac and is a cylinder, allowing customers to walk around and view the products, ranging from £16-£38, with lockers opening once purchased on a digital screen, that is accessible 24/7.
The London pop-up will run for six months during which time the company will change the product range and merchandising design to ensure ongoing customer interest.
