Morrisons has become the first British supermarket to offer its customers the option of recycling their used coffee pods by partnering with Podback, a first of its kind scheme developed by Nestle and Jacobs Douwe Egberts UK.
The partnership will allow Morrisons customers to pick up free Podback Collect+ recycling bags from customer service desks, that can then be filled with pods and taken to one of 6,500 Collect+ delivered by Yodel drop off points around the UK, with free postage.
The aluminum and plastic within the pods is then used to make other products, while the used coffee grounds contribute towards biogas and soil fertilizer.
