Target has announced a range of upcoming improvements to its Pickup service. The new introductions include providing shoppers with the ability to return items through the service as well as a partnership with Starbucks to allow customers to order a drink without leaving the car.
Target has stated it plans to implement the additions to Drive Up and its curbside Pickup option at a limited number of stores starting in the fall.
The new options will be available through the Target mobile app, with real time notifications about the customers location providing Starbucks key customer information that helps in terms of preparing the drink orders, from one of the over 1,300 Starbucks cafés inside Target’s American stores.
The feature of customers staying in the car during their Pickup and drinks order will provide Target with a competitive USP, while they also plan to expand the “backup item” functionality in more categories, including Beauty and Household, allowing customers to select a replacement if availability is low.
