Beauty retailer Ulta has launched a shoppable AR lens on Snapchat, allowing users to virtually try-on Beauty looks that best suit them, then having the option to shop the relevant products.
The innovation comes at a time that Snapchat is expanding its AR and social commerce capabilities with its new shopping lens format called Catalog-Powered shopping lenses. Ulta Beauty and MAC have become the first Beauty retailers to trial this technology.
The experience is accessible by scrolling on Snapchat to access the lens and try the different virtual try-on looks. On the bottom of each filter, a pop-up tab offering information about the product; size, colour and price will appear, leading directly to Ulta.
